Ireland | Green, green Éire

“Dear Erin, how sweetly thy green bosom rises!  An emerald set in the ring of the sea.  Each blade of thy meadows my faithful heart prizes, Thou queen of the west, the world’s cushla ma chree.* ”
John Philpot Curran (1750-1817) Irish politician and orator

From County Cork to Connemara, I was struck by the glorious green of Ireland.  Here’s a preview of my journey across the emerald isle.

* “Cushla ma chree,” (chuisle mo chroí) is an affectionate term of endearment, literally translated from Gaelic as “O pulse of my heart.”

I was fortunate enough to be able to travel this beautiful “green” country with my sister, the blogger.  Fresh off the plane last night and back into the reality of my work week it was nice to get a little respite and relive our trip through these photos.
