I don’t know why, or even, in some cases, how, but the produce in Buenos Aires is stacked vertically.
When I first noticed the vertical produce, I assumed it was one creative shop owner. Then I kept seeing it everywhere.
Perhaps the most expressive displays were in this shop, where they created pyramids above vertically stacked fruit and vegetables.
It’s quite stunning to look at . . . but I couldn’t help wondering how often someone pulls out a piece of fruit and the whole thing comes tumbling down.
