A R G E N T I N A
  • Café de los Angelitos

    Rivadavia Avenue 2100, Buenos Aires
Classic tango show (with or without dinner) - performance of the history of tango. Fabulous.

  • Caminito

    La Boca, Buenos Aires
Caminito is the colorful, much photographed, street in the La Boca neighborhood of Buenos Aires. A port neighborhood for 19th century immigrants, it fell into disrepair until a local artist brought it back to life in 1959. Get there early in the morning, before the throngs of tourists. At around 10, artists start setting up their work - look past the tourist-geared tango paintings and you can find some real gems.

  • Desnivel

    Defensa 858
,
Buenos Aires
Argentine asado is a must, and this restaurant on the corner of Defensa and Dr. Jose Modesto Giuffra in San Telmo neighborhood of Barcelona is a raucous place where huge pieces of beef are being hacked up with sharp meat cleavers and thrown in wood burning parillas. Meat, meat and more meat, so if you're vegetarian you might want to pass - but it's an experience not to be missed.

    Just One Suitcase

Hi, I'm Pam Peterson. I am a designer and a writer.

I’ve been a costume designer for “Saturday Night Live," an Emmy award-winning TV art director for Martha Stewart, art directed shows for Food Network and HGTV—and I design real-life homes not on TV.

As a writer, I have been a contributor to Huffington Post and Dwell, and write this blog. I've also completed a novel and have two more in the works. I am represented by Ann Leslie Tuttle at Dystel, Goderich & Bourret Literary Agency.

Oh yeah—and when I'm not designing or writing I travel the world. With just one suitcase.

Subscribe to my newsletter to receive travel tips, information on places to eat, sleep, stay and see around the world, and news on upcoming book publications.
